Justin Timberlake foi o grande vencedor do Billboard Music Awards na noite do último domingo (18). O cantor do sucesso Take Back The Night recebeu sete troféus, incluindo as categorias Melhor Artista e Melhor Artista Masculino durante a cerimônia no MGM Grand Garden Arena em Las Vegas, depois de retornar ao cenário musical no ano passado com o álbum The 20/20 Experience, encerrando um hiato de sete anos.
O cantor também levou para casa prêmios nas categorias Melhor Billboard 200, Melhor Artista de Músicas de Rádio, Melhor Artista de R&B, Melhor Álbum Billboard 200 e Melhor Álbum de R&B, embora ele tenha aceitado os prêmios por meio de uma videoconferência ao vivo, já que se encontra em turnê atualmente.
Falando aos espectadores, ele disse: “Estou chocado. Estou boquiaberto. Realmente surpreso”.
Enquanto isso, os roqueiros da banda Imagine Dragons receberam cinco prêmios, incluindo Melhor Artista de Rock e Melhor Álbum de Rock, enquanto Pharrell, Robin Thicke e T.I foram consagrados com quatro troféus por seu hit do verão 2013, Blurred Lines.
O rapper Ludacris apresentou a noite, que contou com performances da vencedora na categoria Ícone, Jennifer Lopez, que subiu ao palco com Pitbull e Claudia Leitte para estrear o tema oficial da Copa do Mundo deste ano, We Are One (Ole Ola), além de Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea e até Michael Jackson, via holograma.
